BT-owned broadband firms to merge
Thursday 15th November 2007, by Daniel King
Two broadband providers which have been recently bought by BT have notified their customers that they are to merge, it has been reported.
Madasafish - which was bought by BT in July - and Plusnet, a purchase by BT last January, are to merge their services in order to simplify the business, Think Broadband reported.
Customers of Madasafish have been notified of the changes via email, with Plusnet set to do the same within the coming week. The new company will be relaunched in December, with the integration of the two broadband firms going on into the new year.
The email sent to Madasafish stated that "by combining our networks and infrastructure we will be able to deliver better and more exciting services in the future."
Sheffield-based Plusnet also runs the Force9, Free-Online and Metronet broadband services.
