BT has launched a 'business fast lane' as part of its latest broadband internet release, allowing firms who deploy the product to bypass heavy traffic during peak times.
The BT Business Total Broadband Fibre (BBTBF), which was introduced to the market on Monday (January 25th), offers the shortcut to super-fast broadband speeds which are designed to reach about 40 Mbps.
Prices for the technology start at around £30 - making BBTBF arguably one of the must-have broadband products of the year for businesses.
For £30 a month, companies will benefit from upload speeds of 2 Mbps, a wi-fi network, 50 MB of web space and up to ten email addresses - all based on a 24-month contract.
An enhanced service offering upload speeds of 10 Mbps is also available.
Those seeking a shorter-term solution can sign up for 12 months, although the price is raised slightly to £35.
Explaining the importance of rapid broadband speeds, BT's managing director Nigel Stagg says: "28 per cent of businesses are already using faster broadband to expand their website capabilities and another 25 per cent are using it to drive more processes online and employ more bandwidth-hungry technology."
According to BT, even small businesses are now finding that they need to send large files on a more frequent basis - with the 10 Mbps upload speeds designed with such firms in mind.
BT recently launched its new Infinity broadband service suitable for households, which it said will offer speeds up to ten times faster than the UK average.
