Vaioni partners with BT for business broadband project

Wednesday 11th January 2012, by Simon White

Vaioni, Britain's biggest Ethernet aggregator, will launch business broadband deals that offer speeds of up to 35Mbps alongside BT Wholesale.

It is claimed that its EFM product presents full national coverage and guaranteed low latency links, which BT and Vaioni believe will prove popular with enterprise customers.

The Ethernet over copper service will be delivered over Vaioni's Next Generation Carrier platform, providing services such as Advanced Layer2 monitoring, and a MEF 14 compliant quality of service.

Additionally, the service has been optimised for cloud computing and benefits from full national coverage, while offering the industry's strongest service level agreement (SLA).

A 99.96 uptime SLA is guaranteed by the business, which also strives to repair any hardware faults within four hours.

Paul Beacham, BT Wholesale’s head of fixed Ethernet products, said that the firm is constantly looking to boost the power of its communications in order to provide customers with the best available technology.

Mr Beacham explained: "We continue to make a raft of enhancements to our Wholesale Ethernet portfolio - including the introduction of the up to 35Mb EFM option - which allow our customers to tailor Ethernet to meet their customers’ needs.

"We are pleased to support Vaioni’s Ethernet offerings and look forward to working with them and all our wholesale customers on new opportunities."

Sachin Vaish, managing director at Vaioni, also commented on the news, saying that Vaioni remains proactive to guarantee that customers benefit from cutting-edge technology.

This news comes after Northamptonshire advanced towards gaining 100 per cent coverage of superfast broadband.

The government has approved the local council's internet strategy, only the fifth in Britain to be consented, possibly leading to internet speeds of 20Mbps being made available to every household in the county.

Local councillor Andre Gonzalez De Savage welcomed the plans, stating that the improvements will bring "huge advantages" for Northamptonshire.
