Wireless broadband 'popular with campers'

Broadband usage at camping sites in the UK has risen dramatically in recent months, it has been suggested.
Research conducted by broadband provider BT, revealed that Wi-Fi usage at holiday and leisure parks in Britain rose by 350 per cent in the first two weeks of the school summer holidays.
The increase could be partly down to the fact that more and more families are 'staycationing'. R3 recently reported that 34 per cent of British holidaymakers are spending their breaks in the UK this year in order to save money.
With the unpredictable British weather, broadband internet access could be one form of entertainment for people who find that they are spending their holiday stuck inside on a rainy day.
Chris Bruce, chief executive at BT Openzone, commented: "Technology is coming to the aid of the traditional British holiday, as more and more people opt for more glamorous camping holidays.
"Wi-Fi is proving to be a simple but essential way for holidaymakers to access the internet and to keep their families amused during unpredictable weather."
BT Openzone is one of the main sources of Wi-Fi internet access, with over 1.5 million hotspots available to its users in the UK.
The five million broadband customers who are already signed up to use BT broadband in their home can access the service at no extra cost, while other people will need to buy a BT Openzone voucher in order to get online.
