Three affected by Bulldog privacy breach

Three affected by Bulldog privacy breach

(Tue, 24th April 2007)

Bulldog revealed today that only three customers have been contacted by third parties after 100,000 people's personal details were stolen two years ago.

Although none of the customers incurred any financial loss due to the security breach, many are concerned about the company's ability to keep sensitive personal information under wraps.

Of particular concern was that customers received a lack of information about the situation even after the breach was found out, reports vnunet.com.

But Bulldog told the website: "It is important to point out that none [of the three third party approaches] has involved any financial loss and we have no evidence that any customers have had their credit card details used illegally.

"We take allegations of this nature extremely seriously and are already taking appropriate legal action against the third parties we believe may be responsible for this unauthorised use of our customer data."

As yet there is no information regarding how the customers' details were leaked.
