Using broadband to make calls 'can save money'

One of the benefits of business broadband is being able to make phone calls over the internet, the British Computer Society (BCS) has stated.
Small businesses may invest in Voice over IP (VoIP) in an effort to slash communication costs as the economy slows down and the cost of energy goes up, according to BCS manager Adrian Walmsley.
VoIP converts voice signals from a telephone into a digital signal that travels over the internet before converting it back to voice at the other end.

Businesses urged to beef up internet security

Business broadband customers are being warned to protect themselves from malicious attacks on their websites.
New research from ScanSafe has shown that threats to legitimate websites climbed by 278 per cent during the first half of the year.
In June, two-thirds of the websites that blocked malware thanks to security software belonged to businesses. Backdoor Trojans and password stealers were the most commonly blocked malware.
