'Good design and copy' needed for websites

Business broadband users who are considering setting up their own website should think about its content, not just its design, according to Fortune Cookie.
The web design company's managing director spoke at the Internet World conference earlier this month about the focus on style over substance in some sites.
Justin Cooke explained: "Make sure that the copy on the website is written in plain language, that it is searchable and that it is on-brand. A lot of businesses have a miss-match between the way they talk to a customer offline and online."
His advice could benefit broadband customers hoping to make the most of their internet access, as the Office for National Statistics has shown that 61 per cent of households had web access at home in 2007.
Within those with internet access, 84 per cent had taken advantage of broadband - making it easier for consumers to develop and upkeep their own website.
