Vodafone partners BT to offer small business broadband

Vodafone UK has entered a partnership with BT that will see the number of broadband options for small and medium-sized businesses across the nation widened.
The deal will involve the extension of an existing long-term collaboration, allowing the former to take advantage of the latter's telecommunications technology as a solution for British entrepreneurs.
As part of a five-year deal, Vodafone UK will have access to BT Wholesale's Voice over Internet Protocol telephone systems and business-dedicated managed broadband services.
This will allow it to repackage the technology into a single fixed-line solution under the Vodafone One Net banner, which will endeavour to provide small and medium-sized business subscribers with the best speeds available in their area.
In addition, these users will be given the option to upgrade to improved broadband connections, as and when they happen to become available in their location.
Peter Kelly, enterprise director at Vodafone UK, said the move would help it connect with firms looking for a unified service that addresses their need for both wired and unwired telecommunications.
BT Wholesale's chief executive officer Sally Davis added: "Today's agreement
is yet further evidence of [our] track record in helping BT's customers
thrive in todays challenging economy."
In a separate release, Vodafone UK announced that adoption of the new service could reduce communication overheads for companies by as much as 20 per cent, while also allowing users a simpler and more efficient solution.
The network also revealed last month that it had become the first mobile operator in the UK to provide 14.4 Mbps speeds.
