Websites 'should go beyond product information'

Websites 'should go beyond product information' Broadband users planning on using their connection to establish a business website should ensure that the content goes beyond product information, according to advice issued by Technology Means Business.

Head of operations at the company Dr Adam Le Gresley explained that holding the attention of the customer and explaining about the company are important features of any online portal.

Dr Le Gresley explained: "Short information pieces will hold people's attention on your website and may lead to sales or further enquiries."

He added that "some level of detail" could mean customers spend longer on the website, increasing the chances of them purchasing services and fully understanding the options on offer for their particular issue.

Last year, the Federation of Small Businesses suggested that no more than half of small and medium-sized companies had developed a web presence, according to the BBC.
