Demon announces changes to fight off competitors

Wednesday 17th October 2007, by Daniel King

Broadband provider Demon Internet has announced it has enhanced its customers' webspace services.

In an effort to cope with bigger broadband providers, Demon has upgraded its customers' Homepages service to include QuickTime and MP3 streaming capabilities, ISP review reports.

The Homepages service now also enables broadband users to stream content on their websites, as part of Demon's efforts to concentrate on the small business end of the market. Demon has also announced it will maximise the bandwidth through the Homepages service.

A statement from the company said: "The enhanced service will benefit Demon Homepages users by providing scalability, greater levels of security and advanced streaming capabilities."

Demon Internet was founded in 1992 and was bought by Scottish Telecom in 1999. The business has since been rebranded to be called Thus.
