Fibre optic broadband investment 'set for dramatic increase'
Monday 23rd May 2011, by Daniel King
Investment in fibre optic broadband is likely to increase as businesses seek cost effective ways of improving internet reliability and speed, it has been claimed.
There will be a dramatic increase in the number of areas in which broadband providers have improved infrastructure, according to Eclipse Internet.
However, the internet service provider's (ISP's) director, Clodagh Murphy, explained that there are other choices where fibre optic broadband has not yet been introduced.
She added: "There are alternatives such as bonding solutions, allowing customer to 'bond' multiple lines together to benefit from the combined speed of all lines.
"It really is important that customers can speak to their ISP and seek advice of the best solution for their business."
More than 400 schools in the Surrey region are set to benefit from high-speed internet services, with Surrey County Council confident this will help schools to maintain their high standards.
