Free home broadband for O2 customers

O2 customers who take up the £20-a-month mobile broadband package will also get free home broadband for 12 months.
The fixed-line broadband service will offer speeds of up to 8 mbps and comes with a free wireless router.
Customers who are not within range of O2's home broadband network will be able to claim a discount on the price of the package.

Ofcom investigates hidden broadband charges

Telecoms watchdog Ofcom is to investigate charges laid out be mobile phone and broadband companies after an increase in customer complaints over 'hidden' costs, the Times reports.
A consultation document will be released early next year by Ofcom, after various unexpected costs have been looked into.
Chief executive of Ofcom Ed Richards said: "Consumers of communications services see headline prices fall. But they must not be misled. As they make their choice of provider, they need confidence that any additional charges are fair, transparent and justified."
