Bundled broadband is best, says report
Wednesday 13th August 2008, by Daniel King
Bundled broadband packages offer customers a much better deal than standalone broadband, according to new research.
The new study from Point Topic found that the average price of a bundled broadband package, complete with a VoIP service, is £25.17 per month.
Triple-play bundles of broadband, home phone and IPTV cost £43.61 on average.
By comparison, the average standalone broadband tariff is£29.71 a month.
Fiona Vanier, senior analyst at Point Topic, said: "Ultimately, ISPs want customers, and they want customers who generate revenue.
"A subscriber who takes more than one service from an ISP is more likely to stay with that provider."
As well as bundled packages, there is also free broadband and free line rental deals from the likes of Carphone Warehouse and Tiscali.
A recent study by BroadbandChoices.co.uk found that introductory deals are the "number one factor" for Britons when choosing a broadband service.
