Free home broadband for O2 customers

Free home broadband for O2 customers O2 customers who take up the £20-a-month mobile broadband package will also get free home broadband for 12 months.

The fixed-line broadband service will offer speeds of up to 8 mbps and comes with a free wireless router.

Customers who are not within range of O2's home broadband network will be able to claim a discount on the price of the package.

In a statement, O2 said it is the first combined deal to "offer customers high-speed internet access inside the home and on the move".

O2 customers are being urged to sign up soon as the offer is only open until the October 31st 2008.

The internet service provider has also launched O2 Home Broadband Takeaway, costing £30.

This allows broadband users to set up the connection at a time of their choosing, without being held to a start date.

"Customers told us that they wanted the flexibility to set up broadband in their own time," said Sally Cowdry, marketing director of O2 in the UK.
