Families with broadband may be interested in a series of new films developed by the government child protection agency, warning children about dangers of the web.
The animated series features Hector the dolphin and helps young people use the internet safely, reports the Scotsman.
Chief executive of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) Jim Gamble explained: "We know that children are now using the internet at an increasingly young age."
A similar program was successfully piloted in New Zealand, teaching children about issues such as giving out personal information.
Tips issued by the CEOP in the Think You Know campaign include advising children to tell an adult if they feel scared or unhappy by anything they experienced on the internet, as well as telling a grown-up if they go online.
Developed as part of the UK police, CEOP has so far arrested 297 offenders, helping to make broadband a safer experience for users.
