Enjoy summer with tips for wireless working

Enjoy summer with tips for wireless working Broadband provider BT has revealed that 22 per cent of city workers see less than 20 minutes of sunshine during their working day - something which could be changed by wireless internet.

The company published a series of tips in order to help companies promote working outwith the office, as it was also shown in the Ciao Research findings that 65 per cent of those asked were depressed at the thought of not seeing more sunlight during the day.

Dave Hughes, BT Retail's director of Wireless Broadband explained: "Out of the office no longer means 'out of touch' and workers can stay just as productive when not chained to their desks."

Advice includes password protecting important files, activating firewalls and not allowing the laptop to overheat in the sun.

Earlier this month BT announced that 100,000 of its broadband customers had signed onto the Fon service - a Wi-Fi community which allows users to share part of their internet connection in order to create a network of hotspots.
