Orange introduces new broadband packages

Tuesday 6th September 2011, by Harry Wallis

Orange has announced new broadband deals for internet users across the UK, with prices dropping significantly from previous offers.

Consumers can take advantage of a 12-month home broadband price plan from just £5 per month, which boasts unlimited broadband usage, inclusive off-peak calls and line rental for £12.75, marking a saving of up to £170 per year in comparison to alternatives from BT.

People who are outside of Orange's network areas can also reap benefits, as the broadband provider is lowering the prices of its plans for people in rural areas by 15 per cent.

Three new deals have been confirmed by the company. These are Broadband and Off Peak Calls, Broadband and Anytime Calls, and Simply Broadband.

Prices for the Broadband and Off Peak Calls package will start from £10 per month, while fees begin at £10 for people who sign up to the Broadband and Anytime Calls package.

Finally, the Simply Broadband package will cost £12.75 per month.

Each of the deals present different features, with the Broadband and Anytime Calls and Simply Broadband options offering unlimited broadband usage and inclusive anytime calls from landlines.

Sylvain Thevenot, director of marketing and propositions at Orange Home, said: "Although financially times are tough, we believe that everyone should have access to the best value deals in the market, irrespective of where they live.

"That's why despite other providers raising the price of their overall packages, we're actually offering the best priced plans we can to our customers right across the nation."

All of the packages come provided with McAfee Family Protection as well as a wireless "n-series" router.

News of Orange's new packages comes after IsleOfMan.com reported that the fastest-ever broadband service to be provided to the Isle of Man will arrive next month.

Sure is providing the connection, which will boast Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line technology.
