Orange launches new mobile broadband plans
Wednesday 7th April 2010, by Daniel King
There's been loads of talk lately about the benefits of flexible working in British businesses.
The government recently called on employers to do more to promote the idea of flexible working, suggesting that it improves job satisfaction, loyalty and gives parents a greater chance to get into employment.
And Ben Willmott, senior public policy advisor at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development agrees.
"There is a strong business case behind providing flexibility for employees in terms of recruitment and retention," he says.
Which probably interests you very little.
However, with an increased emphasis on the move to such options, like homeworking, it's interesting to see how broadband companies will adapt to the change.
Orange has announced its support for flexible working by introducing new mobile broadband plans that gives employees the chance to choose a package that suits the way their company works.
Its new Business Everywhere 9 to 5 deal offers unlimited data for £10 per month to customers who want access to the internet via their handset between 09:00 and 17:00 local time.
But those who work late could also benefit from the Business Everywhere 5 to 9 tariff, which provides the same offer for people working between 17:00 and 09:00 local time.
Commenting on the news, Martin Lyne, director for small and medium business at Orange UK, explains: "We know that traditional working hours are changing and we want our mobile broadband offering to reflect the working lives of our customers."
"So, with Business Everywhere they'll be able to choose the plan that offers them the best value based on when they want to use their mobile broadband," he adds.
