Orange ups its mobile broadband tariffs

Wednesday 5th May 2010, by Daniel King

Brits who love connecting to the internet on the move could be set to benefit from a new announcement by Orange.

Mobile broadband appears to have become increasingly popular over the last year, especially among businesses.

In fact, the company recently revealed the data usage by small to medium-sized businesses in 2009 grew by a huge 290 per cent.

However, the likes of you and I enjoy a bit of mobile surfing too, especially now that smartphones and laptops generally have even greater web facilities.

As a result, Orange has decided launch the Panther, Racoon and Dolphin tariffs to reflect customer needs and behaviour.

So what do these offerings give us?

Well, Panther Mobile Broadband starts a £25 per month and is an all-inclusive mobile broadband deal, giving you either 10GB or unlimited data usage each month.

Meanwhile, Dolphin can be subscribed to for as little as £15 a month and offers people the chance to choose a happy hour of unlimited web use that best suits their lifestyle.

Finally, Racoon starts at £5 per month and is designed for those who simply dabble in internet surfing on their mobile phones.

Commenting on the news, Asif Aziz, director of broadband and home at Orange UK, said: "Our mobile animal plans have been extremely popular as they allow customers to quickly select the right package which is best for them - so we've decided to extend these to our mobile broadband range – making it easier for customers to find the tariff that meets their digital needs and which is best suited to their personal lifestyle."

What do you think about the new deals?
