Pipex offers website owners free advertising

Pipex offers website owners free advertising Broadband provider Pipex's web hosting arm has signed a new deal with Microsoft to give its customers £50 worth of free advertising credit with any Windows shared hosting account.

Website owners can use the free voucher to advertise through Microsoft's search engine live.com, which services five million web browsers every month.

Microsoft adCenter maintains that customers are 70 per cent more likely to buy from its advertisers than any other pay-per-click provider and also grants access to web users on Windows Messenger and Hotmail.

Mark Beyer, sales and marketing director at Pipex SME Hosting, said: "This is great for hosting customers who are perhaps new to pay-per-click or for existing users to test new search terms or evaluate a targeted marketing campaign."

Nigel Leggatt, marketing manager for Microsoft adCenter, said: "With Microsoft adCenter, advertisers will see a better return on investment, with higher conversion rates, better targeting capabilities and a useful research tool."

Pipex is currently up for sale for around £450 million but yesterday the Financial Times reported that BT is the only firm left in the auction, after Carphone Warehouse followed a host of other firms pulling out.
