Broadband provider PlusNet has announced an offer for customers of Pipex affected by the recent sale of certain divisions to Italian firm Tiscali.
Pipex, Bulldog, Toucan, Freedom2Surf and Nildram customers are all being urged to make the most of PlusNet's deal, which offers the first month of its broadband service for free.
Following the month's fee-free period, customers will also be able to seek their money back if they are not satisfied after a few months with the company via its 90-day money back guarantee.
Neil Armstrong, products director at PlusNet, said that the £210 million sale of Pipex's businesses to Tiscali would create "massive customer churn", as comparison sites had ranked Pipex ahead of Tiscali in terms of customer service.
"We expect Pipex customers will react to this move by voting with their feet. Broadband users want speed, reliability and first class customer service, not mass market offerings," he stated.
