Carphone Warehouse tops 2.5m customer mark

Carphone Warehouse tops 2.5m customer mark Broadband service provider Carphone Warehouse continued to benefit from the internet boom as it added an extra 215,000 customers in the six months to September.

The company's financial report shows that Carphone Warehouse, which runs both the TalkTalk and AOL UK brands, now has over 2.5 million broadband customers across the UK, making it the third biggest behind BT and Virgin Media.

As a result of the broadband boom, revenues at the Carphone Warehouse rose by 18 per cent and the company made a £56 million profit during that time period. The firm has seen its US operations grow in a joint venture with retailer Best Buy.
