Free broadband and phone package offered by TalkTalk

Tuesday 1st June 2010, by Daniel King

TalkTalk has launched a package offering 12 months free broadband and phone.

The deal, which is for an 18-month minimum term includes 24Mb broadband, a 40Gb monthly download allowance and a 30-day trial.

With 40Gb web users can apparently download the equivalent of 55 movies or 900 albums.

And that's just for the broadband part!

Customers will also get unlimited evening and weekend calls to UK landlines and ten per cent discount off 16 mobile and international numbers on the connected phone package.

Following the free 12 months, there is a charge of £6.99 per month until the end of the contract.

TalkTalk seems to have thought of the whole family by also offering a free Magic Desktop.

The company said: "Magic Desktop is a fantastic product that can help little ones learn valuable computer skills. It features lots of educational games … an application to help discover email, a secure web browser and also parental controls to protect the computer settings from busy little fingers."

I wouldn't mind avoiding phone and broadband payments for a year! Imagine the things you could buy with the money you're saving.

TalkTalk added that it now uses the UK's biggest next-generation network, which covers 85 per cent of the UK and aims to allow internet users to browse the web seamlessly.

A Pro package, described by the company as ideal for families and busy households, is also being offered for £14.99 per month, including unlimited downloads, free technical and customer support and UK mobile phone calls for a flat 7p/minute rate.

There's just so much choice!
