TalkTalk 'brightens up the UK'

Wednesday 12th August 2009, by Daniel King

TalkTalk has unveiled details of a new promotional campaign that it will use to market its latest slogan, while highlighting some of the most recognisable points of interest in the UK.

As part of its "Britain's brighter phone and broadband company" initiative, which was launched by the service provider in July, a series of new images have been created which showcase famous landmarks across the nation.

These have been shot in five separate British cities - London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle and Edinburgh - all of which were visited by photographer Michael Bosanko.

Utilising a technique known as light graffiti, the expert travelled from location to location taking pictures using a long exposure approach and various torches to create the work, which will now be used as part of a TV advertising drive.

"It has to be really dark to take the pictures, in order to give me as much time as possible to create each image. Street lights are big headache as the shot immediately begins to brighten up when the lens is open so I have to work really fast," Mr Bosanko explained.

With the images released today, the broadband company - which earlier this year secured the rights to acquire Tiscali - will hope the artwork will be seen by a wider audience on Saturday August 15th when they are used to illustrate TalkTalk's television campaign.

Sylvain Thevenot, senior director of products and alliances for the group, recently posted an article on the company blog which advised users how to "tune up" their web connection.
