TalkTalk comments on latest campaign

TalkTalk has commented on its most recent marketing drive that involves the creative use of light to create an artistic representation of some of the UK's most recognisable landmarks.

Announced this week, the broadband company said the new promotional campaign would build on its "Britain's brighter phone and broadband company" tagline by working alongside photographer Michael Bosanko.

Five locations in London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle and Edinburgh were chosen and using a technique known as light graffiti, the expert took a series of shots which will form part of a larger TV advertising drive.

Olivia Streatfeild, marketing director at TalkTalk, said in post for the internet service provider's official blog that travelling across the UK and taking the innovative pictures was a busy but worthwhile experience.

"The effect is a bit like taking a photo of a waving sparkler on bonfire night. It was incredible to see Michael at work, as he mapped out each picture in his mind before swirling torches around in the dark," she explained.

Ms Streatfeild went on to say the resulting images Mr Bosanko was able to produce were "fantastic" and were based on real-life creativity rather than post-production manipulation techniques.

"Every shot in the collection was done purely with a camera and torches. No clever touching up afterwards or light trails added in using Photoshop," she concluded.

The spokeswoman recently posted a blog entry commenting on the firm's move to sponsor ITV's The X Factor when it returns to screens this month. She said the firm was "excited to be involved" as it has now become more of an annual event than a TV show.
