TalkTalk comments on X Factor sponsorship

A spokesperson for TalkTalk has commented on the broadband services provider's revelation this week that it is to be the sponsor of this year's X Factor on ITV.
Olivia Streatfeild, marketing director of the firm, said the company was "delighted" to be able to make the announcement and that it was an exciting time for all those involved.
The series, which invites people from across the UK to step up on stage and reveal their talent - or in many cases lack of talent - to the world, is now into its sixth season - and in a piece for the internet company's blog she noted it is rapidly becoming much more than that.
Ms Streatfield suggested "few could argue that it's one of the television events of the year" and as such it was important for TalkTalk to be involved. In addition, she explained there would be much more to the sponsorship than video inserts that appear in the breaks of the televised show.
"Over the coming weeks, TalkTalk will be bringing The X Factor fever home to our customers through themed products, downloadable X Factor parties plus, the chance to win tickets to the live shows," she said.
The spokesperson concluded by mentioning a competition inviting web surfers to invent their own "bright-dance" which, if selected, could see them broadcast on prime time TV during the show.
Last month, Ms Streatfield commented on TalkTalk's latest advertising campaign in the official broadband provider's blog, noting it would be accompanied by a manifesto which outlines its commitment to customers.
