TalkTalk opens first Customer Experience Centre
Tuesday 20th April 2010, by Daniel King
TalkTalk has unveiled its first ever Customer Experience Centre in London, which "offers something new and different" to its customers.
Writing on the internet service provider's (ISP) blog, founder and chairman Charles Dunstone explained the new hub is located in the capital's Broadwick Street and has a host of different uses and benefits.
Anyone can wander in and get advice on their broadband, try out new online products or surf the internet, while those keen to sign up with the company can do so too.
People who are already customers of the ISP - of which there are over four million - can head into the customer lounge.
"Here TalkTalk customers can enjoy hot or cold refreshments in comfort, whilst taking advantage of the free WiFi in more relaxed surroundings," he writes.
Sounds lovely.
However, the most interesting part of the new centre is the upstairs 'incubator space'.
This is office space that will be rented out to start-up enterprises and entrepeneurs and according to the Guardian's Richard Wray, is being inhabited by companies and individuals involved in creating mobile phone applications.
One such person is the App Business's co-founder Rob Evans, who told the publication: "The location of the new office is great. We have quite a few clients and other agencies round there with whom we do quite a lot of work, so it's very convenient."
So what do you think of the idea?
Would you find yourself surfing the web down in the Soho hub, or is your house good enough for you?
