TalkTalk answers Tiscali users' questions
Monday 18th May 2009, by Daniel King
TalkTalk has issued a statement this week which is aimed at laying the fears of current Tiscali internet users to rest.
Following the announcement last week that the former was to acquire the latter in a move that would create the largest home broadband services provider in the UK, a spokeswoman has answered a number of questions which have been raised.
Managing director of TalkTalk Wendy Becker said that the purchase of Tiscali was an exciting time for both firms as they look to finalise the last elements of the deal - which she states could be done by the end of June, if EU approval is granted.
In an article for the broadband provider's blog, Ms Becker looked at some of the most common questions that have since emerged and commented on the subject of whether existing Tiscali TV subscribers would continue to have access to services or not, the platform was expected to "continue as normal".
Speculation the Phorm system would be rolled out to Tiscali customers was not something that was planned in the immediate future and should this change all customers were advised they would be told well in advance.
All current contracts with Tiscali are to remain binding after the acquisition and billing is expected to continue as normal - with any possible changes communicated to users in advance.
In addition, email addresses will remain the same, dial up accounts will remain untouched and Tiscali's technical support telephone numbers will be kept running for the foreseeable future.
