A number of Tiscali broadband customers are currently experiencing problems with outgoing email - a problem that has been occurring for over a week.
Subscribers began posting about the issue on May 21st, with numerous users receiving 'mail not delivered' messages after attempting to send emails.
Eight days on, the problem has still not been resolved, with Tiscali's service status page revealing that other ISPs are blocking certain Tiscali addresses due to spammers using the domain to send unsolicited mail.
"Our engineers are taking urgent action to block the spammers abusing our email service; this will progressively take effect over the next few days," the company said on its website yesterday afternoon.
While the issue looks likely to be a temporary problem, this may prompt some Tiscali users to switch broadband providers.
Earlier this month, BT announced that it has become the most popular retailer of broadband services in the UK, a conclusion based on figures from broadband monitoring firm Epitiro.
