Virgin Media adds customers

Thursday 28th February 2008, by Daniel King

Virgin Media, which provides services such as broadband provision, has announced it had added 24,400 customers in the last three months of 2007.

In announcing its results, Virgin Media also revealed its customer revenue for the last quarter of 2007 was £621.9 million, the first revenue growth of last year.

Acting chief executive at the company Neil Berkett commented on the results: "They demonstrate that our customers are responding positively to a compelling consumer proposition combined with the strength of the Virgin brand."

Mr Berkett adds that the company success was thanks to developments such as "superior network capability to drive broadband growth", which may interest those looking for a new broadband supplier.

Earlier this year, Virgin Media announced that it was offering free 4 Mb to 10 Mb upgrades for those with cable broadband, allowing music tracks to be downloaded in around four seconds.
