Virgin Media "apologises" for slow connections
Monday 12th November 2007, by Daniel King
Broadband provider Virgin Media has responded to complaints from its customers over unreliable connections and varying download speeds.
The UK's second biggest broadband company has received a number of complaints over recent weeks due to slow internet connections and system outages at a number of locations across the country, ISPreview reports.
A Virgin Media spokesman told the news provider: "Some users reported issues with speed and disconnections on our ADSL service during part of October. This was the result of a fault on our routing equipment which has since been rectified. Virgin Media apologises for any inconvenience caused."
The status page on Virgin Media's website states that problems have occurred due to an "uneven spread of traffic" across the company's network.
Virgin Media was launched in 2006 and offers cable TV, broadband, home phone and mobile phone services.
