Virgin Media: Many Britons waste too much money on broadband Many Britons are wasting too much money on broadband services by failing to look around for the best deals, according to a new survey from a broadband provider.

Virgin Media found that many people have spent large sums on buying hi-tech gadgets – in spite of the fact that many find using even their most basic functions a difficult task.

Some four per cent of respondents said they could not remember what services their phone, broadband and TV providers offer, while 17 per cent said they "can't be bothered" to switch to cheaper providers, even though substantial savings could be made.

James Kydd, managing director of marketing at Virgin Media, explained: "Today's technology can really make life simpler and more entertaining but can also be difficult to get to grips with if you don't have straightforward advice."

Virgin Media has consequently launched a new consumer guide entitled Your Digital Home Made Simple, which aims to help consumers get the best from their broadband and other hi-tech services.

Recently, Virgin Media announced it had made the entire back catalogue of the James Bond films available on its on-demand digital TV service.
