Three wins big at mobile broadband awards

Mobile operator Three has been recognised as one of the top providers of mobile broadband at Broadband Expert's 2008 awards.
If claimed half of all of the gongs available after sample data from 4,000 consumers was taken between January and September this year, reports ISP Review.
It was honoured for having the best value packages currently on the market. According to the online portal, Three's low prices forced other internet service providers (ISPs) to reduce the cost of their products.

Mobile broadband 'more popular than Wi-Fi'

Mobile broadband is becoming a more popular option than Wi-Fi hotspots which are location specific, it has been claimed.
Through mobile broadband, users have access to the internet anywhere in the country, rather than having to rely on finding a place with Wi-Fi access, reports Point Topic.
The company reports that 47 per cent of people who use the internet away from home use mobile broadband.

Inspiron Mini set for October launch

The new Dell Inspiron Mini 9 will give mobile broadband customers much greater functionality, according to Vodafone.
From mid-October the compact device, which has mobile broadband connectivity built in, will be available from the operator's website and shops.
The Inspiron Mini 9, which weighs just over 1kg, has an 8.9-inch display, sealed keyboard, Bluetooth and webcam.
