ISP award nominees announced
Broadband users may be interested to know that the nominees for the 2008 Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA) Awards have been released.
The awards, which have been held since 1999, are divided into categories to "celebrate innovation and best practice".
"Each year the event changes to reflect changes in the sector and to represent the ever broadening nature of the service provider sector," explains the ISPA.
The judging panel is made up of industry experts such as John Fisher, chairman of Citizens Online, and Jaap Favier, research director and vice president of Forrester.
T-Mobile and Vodafone were among the nominees for the Best Wireless ISP, although the nominations for Best Consumer ISP are yet to be announced.
Virgin Media was nominated for Best Consumer Broadband, alongside Entanet, Newnet, Seriously Internet and Waitrose.
The broadband and communications provider Virgin Media has almost ten million customers and claims to be the most popular residential broadband provider in the UK.
