Vodafone cuts price of mobile broadband

Mobile broadband provider Vodafone has announced that it is cutting the price of its service for a "promotional period".
Regular users of the broadband service can take advantage of a 3GB price plan from £15 per month, half the previous price.
Chief executive of Vodafone UK Nick Read said: "Clearly the market potential for consumer mobile broadband is great and we are excited to be introducing the new plans that will meet the demands of all our customers."
New prices include broadband access abroad from 20 pence per Mb, with laptop users wanting international broadband being offered the Vodafone Connect Abroad service.
The Mirror has speculated that the price cuts are motivated by rivalry with O2, and concerns over the impact of the iPhone.
Vodafone launched its mobile internet service in June last year and now offers a USM modem stick, which can be plugged into laptops for broadband access on the go.
