Vodafone reduces laptop data roaming prices

Vodafone reduces laptop data roaming prices Laptop users looking for an alternative to Wi-Fi when abroad this summer will be able to take advantage of cheaper data roaming services from Vodafone.

The mobile firm has announced that the price of its Connect Abroad facility is now €12 (about £8) a day, excluding VAT, in Europe, Egypt, Australia and New Zealand through Vodafone subsidiaries.

This new price also extends to roaming services operated through partners in France, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium.

Users will be able to connect to the internet via a Vodafone Mobile Connect USB modem or a Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G broadband data card wherever there is a HSPDA network.

"With Vodafone Connect Abroad, customers can now access internet services on their laptops for a simple, daily rate, competitive to hotel Wi-Fi and DSL services," commented Frank Rovekamp, global chief marketing officer for Vodafone.

Last month, the company reduced the price of its mobile broadband service to £25 a month.
