Vodafone Sure Signal 'to improve broadband connection on mobile phones'

Phone users who struggle to find a strong signal when trying to use a broadband connection on a mobile device in their home could be pleased to hear of the release of Vodafone Sure Signal.
Sure Signal is a plug-in box which attaches to any home or office broadband line and improves 3G signal strength.
A Vodafone survey shows that one in 50 people have contemplated moving home because of an inability to receive a good connection in their property.
But with Sure Signal there may be no need, as the application works to generate vastly improved 3G coverage.
Guy Laurence, Vodafone UK's chief executive officer, said: "Customers tell us it is life changing. If they live or work in a basement, for example, the only way they may be able to get consistent mobile coverage could be with a Vodafone Sure Signal."
Retailing at £50, Sure Signal could be a shrewd investment for those reliant on or enthusiastic about their mobile broadband service.
The product also brings users "more reliable" 3G signal, stamping out random indoor inefficiencies, according to Vodafone.
Up to 32 people can be registered to any one Sure Signal, with four able to use it at a particular time.
Vodafone also discovered recently that one-in-five Britons have missed an important event or social occasion as a result of poor signal.
The Australian Media and Communications Authority last week stated that the rise in popularity of smartphones - such as the iPhone, Nexus One and Blackberry - is creating a surge in demand for mobile broadband capability.
