BT resolves Broadband iPlayer bug
A bug that caused BT HomeHub broadband routers to crash has been fixed by the internet service provider (ISP).
The problem made the routers reset themselves when subscribers to the service attempted to view content using the BBC iPlayer and other live TV streams.
Mac and PC users were both affected by the issue, which is thought to have been related to Adobe's Flash player. PC users were able to solve the problem by upgrading to the latest Flash software, but Mac users faced tougher problems.
The latest version of BT's HomeHub is unaffected but older models and some routers that were used by O2 and Be Broadband faced a number of complications.
BT's new wireless router uses 'N' technology to provide a range twice that of any other ISP, according to the company's website.
It can connect to gaming consoles and BT Vision digital TV as well as desktop computers and laptops.
