Deltenna introduces new mobile broadband gadget

When you're out and about or away from a big city buzzing with technology you'll know how frustrating it can be when your mobile broadband signal goes and you can't access the web at that crucial moment.
Well, help may be at hand in the form of a device from UK start-up firm Deltenna.
The company has introduced a new self-install Wireless Broadband Enabler (WiBE) gadget that creates a 2 Mbps internet hotspot using the 3G mobile broadband network.
However, instead of that frustrating situation you can get into where your signal goes, the new technology means you'll still be able to access your favourite pages even where a 3G mobile can't register a signal.
Deltenna claims to have undertaken "extensive rural usage tests in the UK" and states that the WiBE device can offer a much greater data throughput than a USB modem, even in places with a bad signal.
So, this could mean no more messing about with plugging and unplugging your dongle to try and get a connection.
Andrew Fox, chief executive officer of Deltenna, said: "The WiBE's range and throughput means broadband can more easily and cost effectively be deployed in regions that don't have access to DSL."
He also pointed out that for many people in the UK, the claims from service providers that they will deliver faster broadband are still yet to be realised.
Everything from smartphones to laptops or VoIP devices can be connected using an internal WiFi router, Deltenna added.
This is not the only positive mobile broadband news recently, as BT has announced it is to offer unlimited access to 1.5 million BT Fon and BT Openzone Wi-Fi hotspots around the UK.
Seems like this summer is the perfect opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy browsing the internet in the sun.
