More security glitches have been uncovered in a number of wireless broadband connections across the country, according to reports.
Wireless, or Wi-Fi, users have experienced a latest attack on their systems which lets criminals defeat firewalls and take personal information, the BBC reports.
A number of Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the UK have been targeted by criminals, who have broken through the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP). WEP encrypts data going between the computer and the wireless point to stop information being stolen.
Computer security researcher Ralf-Philipp Weinmann told the BBC: "WEP as a security measure is so broken that your (and everyone else's) kid sister can easily circumvent it."
Throughout the world, Wi-Fi hotspots are becoming increasingly popular as the need to access the internet through broadband connections becomes more in demand.
