Wireless broadband 'will lead to common information exchange'

Wireless broadband 'will lead to common information exchange' Wireless broadband customers could enjoy an easier exchange of information between devices in their home, thanks to developments of technology according to an industry website.

Andrew Ferguson, editor of information site thinkbroadband, explained that the advancement of common data exchange method could transform the wireless world.

He added: "The biggest barriers remain the issue of coverage inside the home; as we insulate our properties more and more ... we make it harder for wireless devices to communicate."

A report by industry watchdog Ofcom showed that broadband use increased from seven per cent in 2002, up to 57 per cent by the end of 2007 with 80 per cent delivered by copper local loop.

However, Mr Ferguson added that the rising cost of electricity could put consumers off buying more products - highlighting the importance of finding a cheap broadband deal.
