Our connection checker gives you technical information about your computer's internet connection, which you can use as a quick reference when contacting your ISP support staff over the phone.

IP Address: an IP Address is a unique address code specific to your computer, like an electronic fingerprint.
Host Name: similar to an IP Address, a Host Name can be used to help identify your computer's connection, and who owns your connection (for example, Virgin).
User Agent: Code that your browser (see below) uses to identify itself.
Language: The language your have set your browser to display text in. For example, if you are using Mozilla Firefox, English text could be expressed here as either 'en-gb' (British) or 'en-us' (American.
Browser: web browsers are programs that allow users to surf the internet, e.g. Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox. The name of the browser you are using will be displayed here.
Version: The version of the web browser you are using.
Operating System: The main program which is handling all operations on your computer, e.g. Windows, OS X.
Java Enabled: If your computer has Java installed, which will allow you to run Java Applets on certain websites.
Flash Enabled: Flash is a programming language used for creating animated features of websites.
Cookies Enabled: HTTP cookies are small pieces of information generated each time you visit a website.
Screen Width/Height: the width of your screen display measured in pixels.
