100Mb Broadband
With fibre-optic technology, web users can now take advantage of superfast download speeds from broadband providers. Your download speed affects the time it takes load data from the internet onto your computer or laptop, so that could be anything from loading one web page to streaming a whole high definition movie. Whilst a superfast connection is not really essential for looking at your average web page, as the time saved would be minimal, something like a movie or a piece of music would download significantly faster with a top of the line connection. People in selected areas around the country can access and subscribe to 100 Mbps broadband, which means 100 million bits per second, which is extraordinarily fast.

Any 100 Mbps broadband deal will be top of the line, because it is superfast broadband operated through the latest fibre-optic technology. If you think that broadband speed is important to you, and you are prepared to pay the top package price, then 100 Mbps may be an option. There are 40 Mbps and 50 Mbps deals available from different providers utilising the fibre-optic network, but if you still want to get something even faster then some areas have 100 Mbps available, with more areas getting access in the future. If you only check a bit of news, a few emails and some social networks, with the odd bit of content streaming, then paying for 100 Mbps broadband may be a little unnecessary, but if you are a heavy downloader then you will certainly notice the difference.
If a 1GB movie file takes around 12 minutes on a 10 Mbps connection (which could easily be your realistic speed if you have a maximum of 20 Mbps), then 100 Mbps would slash that time to around a minute, or even less as some movies are less than 1GB in size. If you are particularly interested in downloading high definition movies, which are much bigger files, then this kind of superfast connection would make short work of it, and the same goes for music files as well as streaming.
