10Mb Broadband
10Mb Broadband allows customers to access download speeds of up to 10Mbps, or 10 Megabits per second. 10Mbps Broadband is the basic top speed available on the Fibre-Optic Cable Broadband connections, but it is also sometimes advertised as the standard theoretical maximum available on ADSL2+ connections. Even though ADSL2+ lines are capable of faster connection speeds - up to 24Mbps - due to the exchange/customer premises distance, some broadband providers will advertise a lower speed, so that customer expectations are more realistic. Broadband speeds of 10Mbps allow you to easily stream and download DVD-quality video as well as engage in typical internet browsing, shopping, networking, playing and downloading music, etc.

10Mbps Broadband
Recent investment and advances deployed in the UK's fibre optic cable networks has seen the standard top connection speeds available on cable line accelerate to 10Mbps, up from the previous 2Mbps. This gives cable customers a significantly better value for money service, allowing them to browse the web as a significantly higher top speed, download torrents and stream music and video at a much faster rate, without having to impatiently wait for individual tracks and video clips to buffer before they can be played.
10Mbps Broadband connections are ideal for customers living in shared accommodation - speeds available across such connections ought to be enough for the casual browsing habits of everybody, and be fast enough to sufficiently handle the occasional download.
Cable customers singing up for a 10Mb Broadband service will need to be aware of the fact that the shared nature of local cable networks requires the implementation of a traffic management policy in order to ensure that everyone using the service gets a fair level of treatment. This will see those who use of the service between the hours of 4PM and 9PM will have to stick to a temporary usage cap of 1200MB between those hours, or risk having their connection speed reduced for five hours.
