24Mb Broadband
24Mbps is the top theoretical speed available on ADSL2+ connections. At such speeds, broadband customers can routinely enjoy fast streaming of high quality audio and video direct from the internet, and not have to wait for ages for files to buffer before they can be played. Thanks to the technological advantages of ADSL2+, broadband customers can not only enjoy the ability to genuinely download as much as they like - albeit, after a specified peak time in some cases - but can also configure and customise their broadband connections settings, optimising their service to suit their browsing needs.

24Mbps Broadband
As ADSL2+ services are delivered over the phoneline like typical ADSL Broadband products, they invariably suffer from the similar distance between the premises and telephone exchange limitation, which sees the quality of service decrease as the distance between the two increases. Therefore, ADSL2+ customers not living in immediate proximity to a telephone exchange cannot expect to get this top speed. However, the overall download and upload speeds available on ADSL2+ connections, not to mention the connection quality and reliability are superior to those of their ADSL counterparts.
It is expected that ADSL2+ connections will eventually become the standard connection used by UK residents as upgrades roll out to exchanges across the country. BT have been working on their 21st Century Network (21CN) since 2006 - this is a large scale nationwide upgrade to its current network of connections which is due to be complete by 2010. By that time, it is expected that the majority of the UK will be able to receive ADSL2+ connections, although the recent Digital Britain report issued by the Government could see these plans changing.
