BT has announced that it will be offering its “best ever” security program to subscribers in July.

The provider confirmed that current subscribers to all of its broadband packages will be upgraded to BT NetProtect Plus, a security program which is powered by McAfee.

BT NetProtect can protect up to 15 online compatible devices, such as laptops, tablets and smartphones, with the services being extended to mobile devices in October.

As well as the new software, BT customers are also due to receive 100Gb worth of cloud storage.

This will allow users to store documents, photos and other files online in order to keep them backed up, where they’ll be easily accessible.

BT has been introducing a number of improvements and extras to its service.

These include a boost to its standard fibre optic speed as well as a pledge to improve damaged and faulty lines faster, with engineers sent out quicker than before.

BT Sport customers will also enjoy more Premier League matches next season, with 42 in total being broadcast.

It is thought that these improvements have been set due to the increase in price BT is adding to its packages, with line rental going up by £1 and Infinity 1 subscribers being charged £2.05 extra per month on average.

BT has claimed that this is a way of both improving the service for customers and adding extra value to the packages they already subscribe to.
