Non domestic call centres put off broadband customers

A new poll has shown that many broadband customers are put off by non domestic call centres from providers.

Broadband website conducted research that showed that over 80% of broadband customers would be put off a provider if they did not have local call centres,.

The UK in general feels that they’ll get lower quality service if they use a call centre that is based overseas, with the quality overall lacking across the board.

Over 34% of the people asked in the poll said that the quality of call centres provided by UK providers failed to meet their needs, with less rating them as “good” or “average”.

Over half said that their broadband issues are not usually solved by calling customer help lines, citing this as the worst thing about call centres.

Other big bugbears about call centres includes long waiting times and the sound quality that callers receive over the phone.

Only 1.9% of those who responded said they were completely satisfied with their customer service call experience.

Providers have recently pledged that they would begin moving more of their customer service centres to the UK.

BT, for example, claimed that it would aim to answer 80% of its calls in the UK by the end of this year.
