Homes and businesses could potentially see speeds of up to 330Mb.
The fibre broadband network in Lincoln and Stamford are to be upgraded, BT Openreach has annouced.
The project could potentially see ultrafast speeds of up to 330Mb delivered to thousands of homes and businesses all across the two towns.
That's quick enough to support glossy 4K streaming on multiple devices while simultaneously playing an online game and using smart home technologies.
It's set to build on the work started by the county council's Onlincolnshire project which has already delivered 160,000 residences with superfast broadband.
99.6 percent of the East Midlands city now has access to superfast speeds, up from 96.8 percent at its beginning.
“The high level of customer take up is very strong evidence that these improvements were badly needed," said Lincolnshire councillor Richard Davies. “That good work will continue, and we remain on track to increase superfast coverage to 97 per cent of Lincolnshire by the end of 2019."
