Free broadband boost for one million Virgin Media customers

Those on M50, L50, L70 and Capped Fibre 20 will be automatically upgraded to the M100 package.

Over one million Virgin Media customers will receive a free broadband speed boost over the next few months.

From 7th January 2020, the ISP will begin to upgrade certain customers to its ultrafast M100 package which boasts an impressive average download speed of 108Mbps.

To be eligible for the upgrade you need to have joined Virgin Media before 1st December 2019 and be one of the following packages:

  • M50
  • L50
  • L70
  • Capped Fibre 20

The update will happen automatically and you’ll be notified by email once it’s complete so no action is required.

Virgin Media says that half a million of these eligible customers will see their current broadband speed double and in some lucky cases, even see it become up to five times faster.

“We’re starting 2020 with a broadband bang by rewarding our loyal customers with this free speed upgrade so even more people can experience our ultrafast, future-proof connectivity,” said Annie Brooks Executive Director of Connectivity at Virgin Media.

The ISP are currently also in the process of rolling out their Gig1 Fibre package across the country
which with a blazingly-fast average download speed of 1,104Mbps is currently the UK’s fast home broadband.
